LV THERAPY

About me
Hi, my name is LV (they/them).
My previous professional experience has been working in communications and marketing roles for charities. Alongside this I spent many years volunteering on emotional support helplines - here, I witnessed how important space and a listening ear can be to people in distress.

I have many years’ experience in activist and community groups, usually centred around LGBTQ+ rights or feminism. I work from a feminist framework, and it’s important to me to hold an awareness of the ways in which societal injustice and oppression operate as part of my therapy work.

While my values and previous experiences inform my work, what initially inspired me to train as a therapist was my own experiences of having therapy.
Qualifications and experience
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Minster Centre.
I am a registered member of the British Assocation for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their ethical code.
I am currently studying for an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.
During my counselling training I worked as a voluntary counsellor at elop, a holistic wellbeing and counselling service for LGBTQIA+ people.

I have experience in working with people who have brought many different things to therapy including: the impact of abuse; low self esteem; anxiety; exploring their gender or sexuality; life changes; trauma.
